K is for Killer

No doubt about it. Distracted Driving Kills. It also maims and injures. If you watched GLEE this week, you might have been vaguely aware they were bringing up the issue of distracted driving. You may have missed it if you weren't paying attention. I, for one, felt they glossed over an issue that has become an epidemic throughout the world. Having lost my beloved sister to a distracted driver, I was miffed. So much so that I joined the rest of my family in removing the once-adored television teen-drama from the DVR line-up.

April is Distracted Driving Awareness month. I have been posting information to the Texans Against Distracted Driving blog for almost a month now. If you google Distracted Driving, you will be inundated with information. Don't want to read? Then check out the almost 6,000 videos that fall in that category. Heck, join any of the hundreds of Distracted Driving facebook pages (including my own), communities and events.

Most importantly, be distraction free when you are operating your automobile. You could be saving your life or the lives of those around you.

  1. That's an effective little video. We still see people using their cell phones in the car even though the laws have been passed against it. Why is it we have to pass laws that make people use common sense.

  2. Very important message. We have enough distractions while driving without adding more.

  3. Great subject. I was behind someone just this morning who stopped a red light. Then went straight through it. Don't know what was going on in his head. But thanks for the reminder!!

  4. This is a great cause. I can't stand distracted drivers because I know it's only a matter of time before they hurt someone. My issue is that everyone hates distracted drivers because their driving is so awful, but everyone thinks they are the exception. GRRR!
